Welcome to Pearces Road Rally, established in 2015, by club stalwart and all round good bloke Ben McDermid.

So today you have a nice lumpy fire-track course with some single track thrown in as a bonus.

Make no mistakes about Pearces Road Rally, even though there is a net altitude gain of ZERO metres, this is a tough course! So don’t spend too many bickies too early.

Ok, so making our way out onto course we start on Diggers Road, make sure you follow the main track.

At approximately 1.8km you’ll arrive at the first main intersection (with Bailiff Road). This is also the turn around for the medium course. Make sure you proceed straight through the cross-road.

Continue to follow the main road until you come to the next cross-road intersection at around 3.05km. This is marked as Costas Track. Here you turn left and start the long, steady and gradual climb towards 4km.

I can’t stress this enough TURN LEFT here. There is normally a “wrong way pls turn back” sign 50m up the track as a last attempt to keep you in track. Enjoy the steady burn up Costas Track.

Continue on Costas Track again crossing Bailiff Road (at about 4.3km) and continuing about 300m until it’s time to do a U-turn (which is signed) and run back to Bailiff Road, where you turn right and negotiate an incline taking you to the highest point of the course just after 5km.

At about 5.3km (give or take) you are diverted off Bailiff Road to go find that single track.

Once onto the single track at approximately 6.35km you’ll come up to the race which has a reasonably sturdy foot bridge which you’ll need to take to cross the race as you make your way back to Diggers Road (turning right at approx 6.5km) and heading back to the finish line.

Only just over 1km to go.

If there has been rain, it may become very slippery in some sections.

Please run safely, don’t get lost, attack those hills, look out for each other, but most importantly enjoy Pearces Road Rally.
