Sandhurst Slog 7km, 1km, 3km and 500m and AV Sandown Relays

Mel Douglass

Coming up on Saturday 6th July, this course lives up to it’s name and is almost as brutal as Ham Street Hustle. This race was ran in 2012 as the end of year Mystery Run and has since been a regular fixture for yearly aggregate points. The 7km event will start at 2pm sharp, please arrive early and endeavour to be registered by 1:45pm for this event. At the conclusion of this event the 1km will be run, followed by the 3km and 500m untimed dash. Please be registered by 2:45pm for the shorter events.

Directions from Hattam Street Golden Square – travel south on Woodward Road then Diamond Hill Road. Turn right into Kangaroo Gully Road and continue 500m to Read Lane on the left. From Kangaroo Flat, heading along Allingham Street (changes to Kangaroo Gully Road), continue 2.5km south from intersection of Chapel Street to Read Lane on the right. Afternoon tea will be on as usual, please bring a plate of afternoon tea to share and a thermos of hot water. We will also need someone to be on milk duty this week too.

AV runners will be running at Sandown Relays, not typically known for it’s balmy weather and is usually cold, wet and blowing a gale. Anyone interested in joining a team, should contact Nigel Preston.

This is the same weekend as Gold Coast Marathon, stay tuned for online live results on Saturday morning for 5.7km & 10km & kids 2km & 4 km dash, and on Sunday for the Half Marathon and Marathon.
