AV XCR Runners will be racing this weekend, Saturday 22nd June at Anglesea in the Surf Coast Ekiden Relays. Ekiden is a Japanese term which generally refers to a long-distance relay running race, typically conducted on roads. An Ekiden Relay is commonly held over the marathon distance of 42.195km with teams of runners completing legs of varying distances. Even better, you can enjoy the views of the surf coast from the Great Ocean Road course.

Anyone interested must be registered with Athletics Victoria and can contact UNI’s VP Nigel Preston so teams and transport can be arranged. The womens team for Bendigo Region would also welcome any new runners. New AV registrations must be done the Wednesday prior to this event so they can be processed.
