College Classic this weekend

Andrew Creer

After what has been a huge week for Australian running (how awesome is Sinead Diver), BUAC is back this weekend and every weekend for the next 18 weekends!

So strap in, hold on and launch it tomorrow at the traditional opening round 1, College Classic.

Directions are easy.
Go to Victory College Strathdale and you will find us next to the carpark out the back.
Usual start times & procedures apply.
Long Course at 2pm. 1km about 3pm and the 3km shortly after that.
Long Course has been stretched out a bit on Cairn Road to bring it up to 6km or so.
If you can register by 1.45 for the Long Race and 2.45 for the 1km that would be great – particularly if you wish to sign up/pay your membership on the day.
Prez Ross will give his now traditional season opening address at about 1.55. No heckling him or asking for instructions how to use Eventbrite..
Don’t forget something for afternoon tea afterwards.

Numbers in the Long Course will be back a bit with BUAC supplying most runners in the Aths Bendigo XCR team at Jells Park tomorrow.
A few other members will be occupied elsewhere with John Robinson clocking up some UTMB entry points at the Wilsons Prom 100ker and Craig Feuerherdt assisting Ross McPhee who with Simon Austin is once again undertaking the DownUnder 135 from Bacchus Marsh to Daylesford and back via the Lerderderg Gorge. Ross and Simon started this morning at 8 and are running all night tonight….Check out the livetracker on the event webpage Ross is near the front of the field tonight. Good luck to all.

Shout out to Andy B who’s latest achievement is selection to run for Australia at the Oceania Games in Townsville later in the year.

Lastly, a big thanks and well done to those who volunteered & helped out at the BUAC O’Keefe aid station last Sunday. Special mention obviously to Andrea for co-ordinating it all. As there was a high % of female helpers, in 2020 some of the blokes are going to have to take a turn & step up. Yellow body suit Captain BUAC outfits have been one suggestion.
